Our client is a leading Agro-Allied Company located in Agbara Ogun State.

Our client is seeking to hire an experienced Agronomist who will be responsible for improving crop productivity and sustainability by conducting research, analyzing soil and plant health, and implementing best farming practices.

The ideal candidate will also conduct soil and tissue testing, nutrient management, pest/disease diagnosis and control.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and oversee all crop production activities to ensure timely and effective production.
Conduct research on crop growth factors, including soil fertility, water management, and environmental conditions.
Develop and test new farming techniques, treatments, and technologies, such as improved seed varieties and sustainable practices.
Analyze soil and plant samples to diagnose nutrient deficiencies and other issues.
Develop and recommend nutrient management plans and advise on the appropriate use of fertilizers, pesticides, and soil additives.
Develop and implement pest and disease management strategies to reduce losses and improve crop quality.
Provide technical assistance and training to farmers on good agricultural practices.
Perform regular crop inspections and preventative maintenance on farm equipment.
Collaborate with farmers to solve problems related to planting, cultivation, harvesting, and crop protection.
Collect, compile, and analyze data on crop yields, soil conditions, and farm performance.
Prepare detailed progress reports and share research findings with farmers and other stakeholders.
Stay current with advancements in agricultural technology and best practices to improve crop efficiency.

Requirements

Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or any related field.
3-5 years proven experience as an Agronomist in an Agro-business sector.
Strong knowledge of crop production, soil science, pest management, and agricultural technology.
Ability to analyze complex data and use critical thinking to solve agricultural problems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively and provide advice to farmers and team members.
Aptitude for research, problem-solving, and applying scientific knowledge to practical farming challenges.


Benefits

Compensation – Base Pay is N300k – N350k Monthly net + other benefits
