Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced BMS Engineer or Senior
Technician with a solid track record in maintenance, execution, and programming
of Building Management Systems, specifically with Schneider Electric and
Siemens platforms. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining,
programming, and troubleshooting BMS systems, as well as executing BMS panel
installations on large-scale projects across West Africa.
This role demands hands-on experience with automation
protocols (BACnet, Modbus, KNX), BMS software tools, field-level device
configuration, and a deep understanding of system integration and maintenance
best practices. The candidate will also lead preventive and corrective
maintenance, manage site interventions, and optimize system performance for
building automation and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute
the installation and wiring of BMS control panels, ensuring compliance
with electrical and BMS standards.
- Program,
configure, and commission BMS systems, primarily based on Schneider
(EcoStruxure, TAC Vista) and Siemens (Desigo, PX series) platforms.
- Perform
routine and preventive maintenance of BMS systems, ensuring uninterrupted
operation and quick fault resolution.
- Diagnose
and troubleshoot system issues in HVAC controls, lighting control, energy
metering, access control, and other building systems.
- Maintain,
update, and back up control logic, graphical user interfaces, schedules,
alarms, and trend logs.
- Conduct
site inspections, testing, and validation of sensors, controllers,
actuators, and communication modules.
- Coordinate
with IT, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration
of BMS systems with building services.
- Prepare
technical documentation such as as-built drawings, control schematics,
test reports, and O&M manuals.
- Liaise
with clients, consultants, and OEM representatives during commissioning
and handover.
- Ensure
strict compliance with health & safety protocols and BMS programming
standards.
- Provide
training to client-side operators and facility staff on BMS system usage
and preventive measures.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Diploma
or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or
Instrumentation; or equivalent technical certification.
- Minimum
10 years of experience in BMS installation, maintenance, and programming.
- Hands-on
experience with Schneider and Siemens BMS systems is mandatory.
- Strong
knowledge of field devices, DDC controllers, HVAC sequences, and
integration protocols (e.g., BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP).
- Capable
of interpreting electrical/control schematics, logic diagrams, and network
topologies.
- Proficient
in using BMS software tools, including commissioning interfaces, GUI
design, and remote monitoring systems.
- Familiar
with energy management practices, system optimization, and control
strategies.
- Strong
problem-solving skills, site management ability, and attention to detail.
- Willing
to work full-time on-site in Nigeria, Ghana, or Ivory Coast under a
project-based or facility maintenance contract.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Self-motivated,
highly organized, and solutions-oriented.
- Able
to manage pressure and resolve technical issues independently.
- Clear
communicator, both with internal teams and client representatives.
- English
fluency required; French language skills are a plus, especially for Ivory
Coast.
