Electrical Technician

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform routine inspection and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in motors, control panels, wiring, and automation systems
• Maintain and service equipment such as pellet mills, hammer mills, mixers, conveyors, and extruders

2. Preventive Maintenance

• Execute preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical components
• Conduct regular checks on motors, starters, relays, contactors, and circuit breakers
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs

3. Power & Control Systems Management

• Monitor electrical panels, distribution boards, and power systems
• Ensure stable power supply to production lines
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems (where applicable)

4. Breakdown Response

• Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns
• Diagnose issues and restore operations quickly to minimize downtime
• Identify root causes and recommend preventive measures

5. Installation & Commissioning

• Assist in installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and machinery
• Support upgrades, modifications, and expansion projects

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices
• Identify and report electrical hazards

7. Continuous Improvement

• Recommend improvements for energy efficiency and system reliability
• Support automation and process optimization initiatives

• B.Eng/ HND in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing (animal feed or FMCG preferred)
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and components
• Basic understanding of PLCs and automation systems is an advantage
