Installation & Maintenance

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Installation

  • Install, wire, test, and commission electrical equipment, machines, control panels, motors, sensors, and related systems.
  • Carry out electrical installations for new machinery, production lines, and plant expansion projects.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with approved standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning after installation to ensure proper functionality.

2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and production machinery.
  • Inspect motors, control panels, cables, switches, sensors, contactors, relays, breakers, and other electrical components.
  • Identify potential electrical faults and take corrective action before equipment failure occurs.
  • Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain proper records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and breakdowns.

3. Troubleshooting & Fault Diagnosis

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults on production equipment and plant utilities.
  • Troubleshoot issues involving motors, starters, VFDs, control circuits, sensors, relays, contactors, and electrical panels.
  • Use appropriate electrical testing instruments to identify faults accurately.
  • Investigate recurring electrical problems and recommend permanent corrective solutions.
  • Support the maintenance team during emergency breakdowns and production stoppages.

4. Automation & PLC

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and support automated production systems.
  • Carry out basic PLC fault diagnosis and assist with PLC programming/modification where required.
  • Troubleshoot sensors, actuators, control circuits, VFDs, HMI systems, and other automation components.
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of automated feed mill processes.
  • Work closely with other engineering personnel to improve machine reliability and automation performance.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all electrical safety procedures, including isolation/LOTO procedures before working on equipment.
  • Ensure electrical work is carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and applicable standards.
  • Report unsafe electrical conditions, damaged equipment, and potential hazards immediately.
  • Maintain good housekeeping around electrical panels, workshops, and maintenance areas.
  • Use appropriate PPE and ensure safe working practices at all times.

6. Independent Working & Team Support

  • Carry out assigned electrical maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Take ownership of assigned breakdowns and maintenance activities from diagnosis through completion.
  • Work effectively with Mechanical Technicians, Production Operators, QC, and other departments.
  • Provide technical support during equipment installation, commissioning, and plant maintenance activities.
  • Participate in shift, weekend, or emergency maintenance activities when required.


Qualifications & Experience

  • OND, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing, food processing, animal feed mill, or similar industrial environment.
  • Practical experience with industrial electrical systems, motors, control panels, and automation.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems, VFDs, sensors, and industrial control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience in preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
