Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICU Technician to join our critical care team in Enugu. This role is essential to the effective operation of our Intensive Care Unit, where the successful candidate will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of life-saving equipment. The ICU Technician will also take a leadership role in staff education and technical training, ensuring optimal performance of ICU systems and high-quality patient care.

This opportunity is open to both local and international candidates. For expatriates, relocation assistance will be provided to ensure a smooth transition.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, manage, and maintain critical ICU equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, defibrillators, and other life-support systems.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues efficiently to minimize equipment downtime during critical care interventions.

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive training program for ICU staff on the effective usage, safety, and routine maintenance of ICU devices.

  • Ensure all equipment adheres to safety regulations, hospital protocols, and national healthcare standards.

  • Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless integration of technical support during patient care.

  • Maintain detailed documentation, including service logs, maintenance schedules, and incident reports.

  • Provide immediate technical support during emergency procedures and high-pressure scenarios.

  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in critical care technology and facilitate staff education on new equipment.

  • Monitor staff performance related to equipment use, and support the implementation of corrective actions when necessary.




Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining ICU and critical care equipment.

  • Strong background in technical training, with the ability to design and implement structured education programs for clinical staff.

  • Prior experience in a critical care or high-pressure hospital environment is highly desirable.

  • A nursing background with experience in ICU patient care is an added advantage, though not mandatory.

  • Proficient understanding of biomedical systems and ICU-related technologies.
