· Identify critical items required for daily
operations, such as linens, cleaning supplies, toiletries, and food and
beverage items.
· Set minimum and maximum (par) levels for each
item to ensure you always have enough stock without over-purchasing, which can
lead to waste or tied-up capital.
· Develop procurement policies and maintain strong
relationships with reliable suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality
products.
· Upon delivery, inspect and properly store items
in designated areas to maintain organization and prevent loss or damage.
· Use inventory management software to automate
reordering when stock levels drop below the set minimum, reducing manual
intervention and risk of shortages.
· Conduct frequent physical inventory checks
(daily, weekly, or monthly) to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies
between actual and recorded inventory.
· Maintain accurate daily logs of stock movements
(in and out) to track usage and detect anomalies early.
· Utilize hotel inventory management software to
monitor stock levels in real time, receive alerts for low inventory, and
generate reports for analysis.
· Review past usage and compare it with current
business levels to forecast future needs and adjust ordering accordingly.
· Regularly inspect items for quality and
usability, especially for linens and housekeeping supplies, to ensure guest
satisfaction.
· Implement inventory management systems to
streamline processes, reduce errors, and save time.
· Adjust minimum and maximum levels based on
seasonal demand or special events.
· Previous experience in inventory management,
preferably in the hospitality sector.
· Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field is
required; additional certification in supply chain or logistics is a plus.
· Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
and familiarity with inventory management software.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage
multiple tasks efficiently.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with various
departments.
· Knowledge or interest in environmental
management practices is desirable.
Working Conditions
· May require lifting, carrying, and moving
inventory items.
