The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacist in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmaceutical services. The role involves dispensing medications under supervision, managing inventory, processing prescriptions, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and process prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Prepare, label, package, and dispense medications accurately.
  • Assist pharmacists with prescription verification and medication preparation.
  • Maintain accurate patient and prescription records.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock ordering, receiving, and storage.
  • Conduct routine stock counts and monitor product expiry dates.
  • Ensure proper storage of medications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients and clients.
  • Escalate medication-related concerns or discrepancies to the supervising pharmacist.
  • Support the implementation of pharmacy policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities.


Requirements

  • Diploma or recognized qualification in Pharmacy Technician studies.
  • Valid registration or license with the relevant regulatory authority (PCN).
  • 1–3 years of experience in a hospital, community, or retail pharmacy.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical products and dispensing procedures.
  • Good understanding of inventory management principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software is an advantage.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
