We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacist in the daily operations of a busy community pharmacy. The ideal candidate will assist with medication dispensing, inventory management, patient support, and administrative duties while ensuring strict compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational ability, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Assist the Pharmacist in the safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications.
Count, measure, package, and label medications according to prescriptions.
Support medication compounding activities under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
Ensure all dispensing procedures comply with pharmacy regulations and safety protocols.
Monitor inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and pharmacy supplies.
Identify and remove expired, short-dated, or damaged medications.
Assist with procurement, ordering, and restocking of medications and supplies.
Ensure proper storage conditions for all drugs, including temperature and security requirements.
Attend to customers professionally and respond promptly to prescription needs.
Collect and verify patient information and prescription details.
Provide excellent customer service while referring clinical inquiries to the Pharmacist.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and prescription records.
Accurately enter prescription data and patient information into the pharmacy management system.
Process payments, billing, and insurance transactions where applicable.
Maintain proper documentation and assist with daily pharmacy administrative tasks.
Support overall pharmacy operations to ensure smooth workflow.
Comply with all pharmacy regulations, ethical standards, and operational procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
Follow health, safety, and infection control protocols.
Work collaboratively with the Pharmacist and other staff to maintain high service standards.
National Diploma (ND), Pharmacy Technician Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
2 – 4 years of experience in a retail or community pharmacy.
PCN (Pharmacists Council of Nigeria) registration is an added advantage.
Good knowledge of prescription drugs, OTC medications, and pharmacy operations.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy management software.
