We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PLC / Automation Technician to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automation and control systems within our CNG Fuelling Station. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, communication networks, and control systems that support station operations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in industrial automation, instrumentation, process control, and electrical troubleshooting, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve PLC and automation system faults.
Maintain, modify, and optimize PLC programs to improve operational performance and reliability.
Monitor and maintain HMI (Human Machine Interface) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks and interfaces between control devices.
Support system upgrades, modifications, and integration projects.
Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Perform routine inspections and testing of automation and control systems.
Calibrate and maintain field instruments, transmitters, sensors, and analyzers.
Troubleshoot instrumentation systems, process control loops, and signal transmission issues.
Ensure proper functionality of pressure, temperature, flow, and level control systems.
Maintain and verify accuracy of instrumentation devices and control equipment.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities on instrumentation systems.
Conduct regular backup and restoration of PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs.
Maintain comprehensive control system documentation and technical records.
Support equipment commissioning, startup, testing, and shutdown activities.
Identify system vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures to improve reliability.
Assist in predictive maintenance initiatives and automation improvement projects.
Troubleshoot electrical control panels, motor control centers (MCCs), and automation hardware.
Maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), relays, control circuits, and associated equipment.
Diagnose and rectify electrical and automation-related failures.
Ensure optimal operation of integrated electrical and control systems.
Ensure all safety interlocks, shutdown systems, alarms, and emergency control systems function correctly.
Adhere to all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with industry automation standards, engineering practices, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance inspections.
Promote a proactive safety culture and identify potential automation-related risks.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration reports, and system modifications.
Prepare technical reports and provide recommendations for system improvements.
Document software changes, backups, troubleshooting activities, and equipment history.
Assist management with performance reporting and reliability analysis.
HND or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
Professional certifications in PLC Programming, Industrial Automation, SCADA Systems, Instrumentation, or Control Systems will be an added advantage.
Relevant HSE certifications are desirable.
Minimum of 5 – 7 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, instrumentation, and control systems maintenance.
Experience within CNG stations, LNG facilities, gas processing plants, manufacturing facilities, power plants, or oil and gas operations is highly preferred.
Proven experience supporting PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial communication systems.
Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated industrial equipment.
