Job Summary
The Carpenter at Dangote Cement Transport will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship and a keen eye for detail to ensure the highest quality of work in compliance with blueprints and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret drawings and specifications to determine the layout and materials required.
- Measure, cut, shape, and install materials to meet construction requirements.
- Construct and install frameworks, wooden structures, and fixtures.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on existing structures as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and adhere to high standards of quality.
- Maintain tools and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
- Train and mentor junior carpenters as necessary.

Education and Work Experience
- Completion of secondary school education (SSCE), NABTEB, or Trade Test I, II, and III is required.
- Trade certification in carpentry or a related field is preferred
- Proven experience of at least 3-4 years in carpentry, especially in commercial or industrial settings
- Strong knowledge of carpentry materials and building codes
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools specific to carpentry
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurement
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of safety regulations in the construction industry
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to always follow safety guidelines
- Good knowledge of English
- Good understanding of basic math
