Accountant
Summary: Our client, a manufacturing company, is in search of an accountant; a professional with at least five years experience in a management position. The most suitable candidate will help the business make financial decisions by collecting, tracking, correcting, and communicating the financial position of the company. They will record transactions, compile and analyze data, perform audits, assist with budgets and financial forecasting, compute taxes, and report their findings to management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing all company’s accounting transactions
Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
Preparing budget forecasts
Publishing financial statements in time
Handling monthly, quarterly and annual closings
Reconciling accounts payable and receivable
Ensuring timely bank payments
Managing income and expenditure accounts
Generating the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data
Keeping a check on the company’s finances based on financial status
Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations
Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the company
Computing taxes and prepare tax returns
Managing balance sheets and profit/loss statements
Auditing financial transactions and documents
Reinforcing financial data confidentiality and conducting database backups when necessary
Complying with financial policies and regulations
The requirements listed below are representative of the Knowledge, Skill and/or ability required to perform this job satisfactorily
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Additional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is a plus.
Minimum of 3+ years managerial accounting experience
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
