Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, hygienic, and reliable Cook / Caterer to manage meal preparation and catering services within a healthcare/medical facility.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals in line with hygiene and food safety standards, ensuring high-quality service for staff, patients, and visitors where applicable. Experience in institutional or healthcare catering is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements

Ensure strict adherence to food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards

Plan daily meal schedules and ensure timely food preparation and serving

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas

Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to management

Properly store food items to prevent spoilage and contamination
-
Assist in menu planning, especially for special dietary or patient meal needs

Ensure proper portion control and food quality consistency

Dispose of waste in line with hygiene and environmental standards

Comply with healthcare facility food safety policies and regulations

Support catering for staff meetings, events, and special functions when required
Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum of Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent

Professional culinary training or catering certification is an added advantage
-
Minimum of 4 years' experience as a cook or caterer (hospital, hotel, or institutional catering experience preferred)

Strong knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen best practices

Ability to prepare both local and continental dishes

Good organizational and time management skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet meal schedules
