The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies.
OCHA also ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response efforts. OCHA's mission is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors in order to alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies; advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness, prevention and facilitate sustainable solutions
This job opening is being advertised for the position of Driver GS-2 located in the OCHA Maiduguri Office and reports to the Administration Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Administration Assistant, the Driver will be responsible for the following duties:

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Secondary Education. Valid Driver's license.
Experience:
2 years of work experience as a driver is required.
Knowledge of driving rules and regulations is required.
Experience in driving office vehicles, including armored vehicles (AV), for the transport of authorized personnel and the delivery/collection of mail, documents, and other items is required.
Experience in day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles and accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logbooks; preparation of vehicle maintenance plans and reports; and management of vehicle-related documents and supplies, including insurance, office directory, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts is required.
Experience working within the UN common system or a comparable international organization, such as UN agencies or international NGOs, is desirable.
Experience working in an emergency context in north-east Nigeria is desirable
