Job Title: Domestic Chef
Reporting to: Head Chef (Supervisor); Administrative Manager (Manager)

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Kitchen Assistant plays a key role in preparing high-quality meals tailored to the household’s preferences. The domestic chef will have expertise in various cuisines, meal planning, and kitchen management while ensuring hygiene and efficiency in food preparation.

RELATIONSHIP
The Domestic Chef is selected by the HOS/DHOS in consultation with the Head of Admin and the Human Resources Manager.
The Domestic Chef reports to theHead of School, who provides daily oversight, assigns kitchen duties, and ensures compliance with health and safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Meal Preparation & Cooking
2. Plan and prepare a variety of nutritious and delicious meals based on dietary preferences and restrictions.
3. Cook and present meals for daily consumption and special occasions.
4. Create a diverse menu incorporating international and local cuisines.
5. Ensure food is fresh, well-presented, and meets high-quality standards.
6. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following food safety regulations.
7. Manage grocery shopping, ensuring fresh and high-quality ingredients are available.
8. Monitor pantry and fridge supplies, managing stock levels efficiently.
9. Ensure proper storage of food items to prevent spoilage and waste.
10. Cater to specific dietary needs, including low-carb, vegan, gluten-free, or allergen-free meal.
11. Plan and prepare meals for family gatherings, small parties, and special events.
12. Collaborate with other household staff to ensure seamless meal service.
13. Set up elegant table settings and assist in hosting meals when required.

REQUIREMENT
● Excellent cooking and meal presentation skills.
● Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary planning.
● Ability to plan menus and manage food inventory.
● Good organizational and time management skills.
● High level of hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
● Discretion and professionalism in a private household setting.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Relevant professional training (preferred but not mandatory).
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a private household or high-end restaurant.
- Knowledge of international cuisines and special dietary requirements.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene is a plus.
