Job Purpose:
The Gate Clerk is responsible for processing inbound and outbound containers at the terminal gate while ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in all gate transactions. This position is critical in supporting terminal operations and delivering excellent customer service to truck drivers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process gate transactions for container trucks entering and exiting the terminal.
  • Verify documentation such as booking references, container numbers, and driver credentials.
  • Operate gate systems and update terminal operating system (TOS) with real-time data.
  • Communicate with truck drivers, security personnel, and control tower staff to ensure smooth gate flow.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or damage to containers and escalate as necessary.
  • Follow all safety and security protocols at the gate.
  • Support traffic flow and assist with congestion control when needed.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • HND or BSc. in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or terminal operations is a plus.
  • Good computer literacy and ability to learn terminal operating systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact with truck drivers and team members.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
