Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer with experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to join our team in Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, owning, and updating mechanical and plumbing designs using AutoCAD and/or Revit, and for the on-site supervision of construction and installation works. The role also includes managing skilled and unskilled labour, as well as overseeing subcontractors to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Documentation
  • Develop, update, and manage mechanical and plumbing system drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Ensure all design documentation complies with local building codes, regulations, and international standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, civil, and electrical engineers to ensure coordinated design efforts.
  • Prepare and review shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material submittals.
Site Supervision & Execution
  • Supervise and monitor the installation of mechanical and plumbing systems, including HVAC, water supply, drainage, fire protection, and other relevant systems.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with design, safety standards, and quality specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or deviations from design.
Labour & Subcontractor Oversight
  • Lead and supervise skilled and unskilled labor during mechanical and plumbing installations.
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship, compliance with project timelines, and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Evaluate performance, allocate tasks, and provide technical guidance to the workforce.
Project Coordination & Reporting
  • Liaise with project managers, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular progress reports, identify potential delays or risks, and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure all MEP works are completed within budget, schedule, and quality standards.


Requirements


Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Eng) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical and plumbing design and site supervision, preferably in the construction or real estate sector.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (MEP module required).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, pumping, drainage, and firefighting systems.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian Building Codes and international mechanical standards.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams on construction sites.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to construction.
