Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop 2D and 3D models for production ready status, Using Autodesk products
  • Researches and analyzes design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of product.
  • Assist in the identification of root cause problems. Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications .Develops and implements corrective action plans.
  • Assist in providing calculations and plans for the certification of Product.
  • Monitors fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Provides technical advice/input relevant to MEP systems 
  • Develops, reviews and execute designs for mechanical/electromechanical, HVAC electrical and plumbing systems and oversees the preparation of related engineering drawings.  
  • Prepares MEP Design Reports and pursue approvals from relevant regulatory authorities. 
  • Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by undertaking and applying the relevant principles

 

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited academic institution  
  • MSc in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution is an added advantage
  • Professional registration as an Engineer is compulsory (COREN, NSE)
  • Strong CAD skills using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Inventor or Solid works.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of algebraic, geometric and trigonometric functions for various calculations.
  • Familiar with USCG and ABYC standards a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing techniques 
  • In-depth knowledge of Building Codes 
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written as well as presentation skills 
  • Minimum of (8) years’ post BSc qualification hands-on experience with a minimum of (5) years’ managing small and large building construction (residential and commercial) projects with primary responsibility for mechanical/electrical and plumbing systems.
