Senior Electrical Engineer (Project Contract)

Job Title:

Senior Electrical Engineer.

Reports to:

Engineering Manager

Main responsibilities:

• Provide Electrical engineering support for surface production systems design, testing, pre-commissioning and start up.
• Mentoring of junior Electrical engineers in the Electrical engineering group, capturing and dissemination of Electrical engineering knowledge.
• Evaluate and Optimize the power system In projects.
• Support the design of Electrical Power systems to meet the required Electrical System load demand by Utilizing Electrical system power tools.
• Check, Review and Approve Electrical Documentation in assigned Project
• Interface with Electrical counterpart in Contractor’s engineering team during the Engineering Phase of projects
• Ensure that Electrical Design is carried out in accordance with internal company and industry standards and in line with national standards, recommended International Standards and best practices.
• Evaluation of contractors during prequalification and technical stages of a project and selection of best technical/economical solutions and products for process systems
• Co-ordinate activities in the Electrical engineering group and Conduct Electrical engineering in-house reviews for projects.
• Promptly notify superior if a design change will lead to cost variation in a project and review requests for variation from contractor relevant to Electrical design.
• Make input to cost estimate for projects.

Education:

Engineering Degree ( Electrical/Electronic Engineering)

Professional Qualification:

• NSE/COREN
• Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE)

Experience:

At least 7 years relevant and related experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Required knowledge, technical or professional skills:

• Transient, Stability and Steady state motor starting studies, simulation and calculation.
• Short circuit current calculation, simulation studies and calculation.
• Electrical design philosophy and criteria.
• Cable sizing criteria and calculation.
• Plant sizing design and calculation.
• Onshore field construction.
• Expertise in all aspects of process plant, instrument, control and ESD systems and software.
• Knowledge of installation and commissioning
• Ability to specify key technical studies.
• Control and management of design change.
• Onshore field construction
